This is one of a pair of nesting Great Horned Owls we found at a wetland area back in March. It’s all decked out after going through the Halloweenizer!

Every year America feeds its children disgraceful amounts of bad, cheap candy, and lets them dress in toxic costumes (literally.) Have you gone inside a “party” store? That odor is the off-gassing of petrochemicals used to make cheap paint, synthetic fabrics, plastics and other materials. The whole thing is also so gimmicky that it has lost all meaning and fun.
I’d like to offer my version of Halloween: One based on the hidden life in Nature, the unseen vitality that gives Nature its sparkle. The true sprites, imps, faeries, gnomes and other shadowy creatures that truly fuel the imagination. (Posts will be going up throughout the day.)
